Bruins send Ullmark to Senators in exchange for first-round pick Korpisalo.

In 40 regular-season games (39 starts), the 30-year-old goalie finished the season 22-10-7 with a 2.57 goals-against average, a.915 save percentage, and two shutouts. In two Stanley Cup Playoff games, he was 0-1 with a 3.90 GAA and.886 save % (one start).

Ullmark signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Bruins as a free agent on July 28, 2021, with an average annual value of $5 million. He is in the final season of the deal.

Ullmark was the NHL's best goalie last season, winning the Vezina Trophy after going 40-6-1 in 49 regular-season games (48 starts) with a 1.89 GAA,.938 saving percentage, and two shutouts. But in the 2023 Eastern Conference First Round against the Florida Panthers, Jeremy Swayman started in his place during Game 7, a 4-3 overtime loss for Boston.

Swayman finished 25-10-8 with a 2.53 GAA,.916 save percentage, and three shutouts in 44 regular-season games (43 starts) this season. Swayman can become a restricted free agency on July 1. In 12 games, he finished 6-6 with a 2.15 GAA and a.933 save percentage to establish himself as Boston's top goalie in the postseason.

In 247 regular-season games (238 starts), Ullmark is 138-73-23 with a 2.51 GAA,.919 save percentage, and eight shutouts with the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins. Ullmark was selected by the Sabres in the sixth round (No. 163) of the 2012 NHL Draft. In 10 playoff games (nine starts), he is 3-6 with a 3.59 GAA and a.887 save percentage record.

Almost a year after trying to strengthen its goaltending by inking Korpisalo to a five-year, $20 million ($4 million AAV) contract on July 2, 2023, Ottawa signed Ullmark.

Nonetheless, Korpisalo played in 55 regular-season games (49 starts) this season, going 21-26-4 with a 3.27 GAA and.890 save percentage. Mads Sogaard was 1-3-0 with a 4.05 GAA and.859 save percentage in six games (five starts), whereas Anton Forsberg was 15-12-0 with a 3.21 GAA,.890 save percentage, and two shutouts in thirty games (28 starts).

In 276 regular-season games (250 starts), Korpisalo is 115-107-29 with a 3.06 GAA,.901 save percentage, and four shutouts for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings, and Senators. He was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round (No. 62) in the 2012 NHL Draft. In 15 playoff appearances, the 30-year-old is 5-9 with a 2.59 GAA, a.922 save percentage, and two shutouts.

In 63 games this season, Kastelic totaled 10 points (five goals and five assists). The 25-year-old forward finished his rookie season with 11 points (seven goals, four assists) and 102 penalty minutes in 65 games after being selected by Ottawa in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft (number 125).

The Boston Bruins have acquired the No. 25 first-round pick that was originally owned by Boston. On July 9, 2023, the Senators traded Alex DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings, and as part of the trade, the pick moved to Ottawa.

Of Korpisalo's remaining pay, twenty-five percent will go to Ottawa.
