The Florida Panthers finally realised their ambition of winning the Stanley Cup Final after making it to the Finals twice in two years, as they defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1.\

 In the end, the Panthers defeated the Oilers in a thrilling Game 7 after fighting to bring the Stanley Cup to South Florida for the first time in team history.
